The Rare Holiday issue is full of unique gift ideas that you can find at cool, local stores like this one. I’ll definitely be doing some Christmas shopping at Lowbrow Emporium, located on South Lamar. You’ll find unique toys, handmade bags, and local artwork, as well as books and clothing.  I’m so glad that I had the opportunity to photograph such a great spot that I otherwise never would have known about.

My other assignment was to shoot 300 Austin, an awesome bowling alley off of I-35.  We packed up the fam and made a night out of it!  This is nothing like the bowling alleys I remember as a kid…projector score cards, ashtrays built into the chairs, and less-than-gourmet food.  We tried the sliders and their kettle chips served with spicy bleu cheese sauce and curried aioli. Now that ain’t your typical bowling alley fare!
