We had a rare Saturday without a wedding, so we decided to take advantage of it and go camping. The forecast called for rain, so I thought Maggie could use some new rainboots. She loved them, of course.

Contemplating her next brushstroke.

For this next shot, I had Maggie dance around the tent with a lantern and did a loooong 30 second exposure. She thought it was pretty cool.

This is our attempt at capturing one of the most surreal, amazing moments in nature we’ve ever experienced. As soon as it was dark enough for stargazing, we headed down to the creek that runs through this little meadow. A storm quickly blew in and lightning began illuminating the dark sky literally every other second. Now imagine fireflies everywhere, and you’ve got yourself one spectacular light show! This photo doesn’t do this moment justice by a long shot. The sky was pitch dark and the light in this photo is only from the lightning in the clouds. It was unbelievable! You could see, feel, and hear the electricity in the air. I’ll never forget that moment.

We can’t forget Arne Barney!! Poor dog hardly gets any photos taken of him any more. He was our favorite subject until the Magster came along. He’s still the best $30 bucks we ever spent:)
